Has your partner said they don't want to be married or don't love you anymore? Nothing is more painful than discovering that the love of your life wants out of your relationship.
What is JS Marriage and Relationship Coaching?
Although you may have known that your marriage was far from perfect, those words- “I love you, but I’m not in love with you anymore,”- feels like they came out of nowhere.
Perhaps you recognize that your partner discusses being unhappy, but you had no idea how serious those complaints were. And now, your spouse isn’t even willing to work on making things better.
Is this you?
Why JS Marriage and Relationship Coaching?
Feeling confused, devastated and completely lost about what your relationship has become?
Or maybe things are not quite that bleak yet. Perhaps ______ fill in the blank.
Whether you're on the brink of divorce or simply tired of feeling unhappy in your relationship, you've come to the right place. I am dedicated to saving marriages and strengthening relationships, and I’m here to help you find a path forward.
How does JS Marriage and Relationship Coaching work?
I am trained in Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). SFBT is a unique therapeutic approach that emphasizes actionable change rather than delving into the reasons behind a client's struggles. This model is designed to provide immediate, tangible help, with a focus on making improvements in a short time frame, rather than waiting weeks or months to see results.
SFBT shifts the focus from problems and pathology to the client’s strengths, inner resources, and overall health. By concentrating on what’s working well and building on those positives, change tends to occur more quickly. I’m proud to have worked as a therapist at the Brief Family Therapy Center in Milwaukee, WI, where this innovative model was developed.
Who is JS Marriage and Family Coaching?
My name is Joann Sallmann. I am a licensed Clinical Social Worker and have a Master's Degree in Social Work. I specialize in strengthening all relationships and saving marriages on the brink of divorce. Currently I work as marriage and relationship coach.
I was married for 47 years before becoming a widow, and I have 3 grown children and 3 beautiful grandchildren.
I believe that the challenges we face in marriage are solvable. I am committed to helping you reach your goals and will never suggest that you end your marriage or relationship. This is your journey, and only you can decide if or when it’s over. My goal is to support you in creating a loving, fulfilling relationship, even if you’re feeling unsure about how to get there. I will stand by you every step of the way.
Together, you and I will uncover the true reasons why you feel stuck in your relationship and explore how to make meaningful, positive changes.
Background and Education
I had the privilege of learning from and working alongside Michele Weiner-Davis, a leading expert in saving marriages. She is an internationally renowned relationship therapist, author of the bestselling book Divorce Busting, and the founder of the Divorce Busting Center. Her groundbreaking work has inspired countless couples to strengthen and repair their relationships.
I worked as team member at the Divorce Busting Center for nearly 3 decades, offering therapy with individuals and couples who wanted to save their marriages and relationships. I also offered Divorce Busting telephone coaching during that time.
Additionally, I have taught numerous workshops on saving marriages and relationships and on Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (see below for more about SFBT).
